Alt Right vs. Alt Wrong: Notes on the Milo Question
September 28, 2016
Alt Right vs. Alt Wrong: Notes on the Milo Question My writing often takes a confessional turn. I have a whole book called Confessions of a Reluctant Hater, for instance. I have also confessed to being a “transphobic.” In fact, I am such a huge transphobic that I had to confess twice. Today, I want to confess that there are some people in the broad “Alternative Right” that I wish would just go away. Usually it is political. Sometimes it is personal. Sometimes it is both. To be quite specific, I really wish Milo Yiannopoulos would just go away, as I made clear on last week’s episode of Fash the Nation. Of course, wanting to be rid of people on the Alt Right is hardly unusual. In fact, it is pretty much the norm. For instance, Ramzpaul and Colin Liddell wish the 1488ers would go away, and the 1488ers more than reciprocate. I don’t think this attitude…

Anti-Defamation League Declares Pepe the Frog a Hate Symbol
September 28, 2016
Anti-Defamation League Declares Pepe the Frog a Hate Symbol Editor's Note: The war on memes continues unabated. Who will prevail? Only time will tell. Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has declared a popular internet meme depicting a cartoon frog to be a hate symbol. Pepe the Frog’s beginnings were unoffensive: he is the creation of comic book creator Matt Furie, who featured the frog as a character in the series Boy’s Club beginning in 2005. The character subsequently became a beloved meme, often called the “sad frog meme” and shared with a speech bubble reading “Feels good man” or “Feels bad man.” It was at times posted on social media by the likes of Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj. But recently, as the Daily Beast reported in May, the character has been co-opted by a faction of Internet denizens who decided to reclaim it from the mainstream, and began sharing…

Shimon Peres dead: Former Israeli president dies after suffering stroke at 93 Former Israeli President and Prime Minister Shimon Peres, a founding father of the country celebrated around the world as a visionary for peace, has died at the age of 93. The Sheba Medical Centre in Tel Aviv announced Mr Peres’s death at 3.40am Wednesday morning, according to the official government Israel New Agency.  US President Barack Obama led tributes to the Israeli statesman, whom he described as a friend and the “essence of Israel itself,” saying: “A light has gone out, but the hope he gave us will burn forever”. Prime Minister Theresa May joined Mr Obama in calling Mr Peres a “courageous and visionary statesman” who “worked relentlessly for peace and never lost hope that this would one day be achievable”. Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas said Mr Peres was “a partner in making…

‘Americans are on our side’: Al-Nusra commander says US arming jihadists via 3rd countries
September 28, 2016
‘Americans are on our side’: Al-Nusra commander says US arming jihadists via 3rd countries US weapons are being delivered to Jabhat Al-Nusra by governments that Washington supports, a militant commander told the German media, adding that American instructors were in Syria to teach how to use the new equipment. “Yes, the US supports the opposition [in Syria], but not directly. They support the countries that support us. But we are not yet satisfied with this support,” Jabhat al-Nusra unit commander Abu Al Ezz said in an interview with Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper from the devastated Syrian city of Aleppo. According to the commander, the militants should be receiving more “sophisticated weapons” from their backers to succeed against the Syrian government.  “The fight is difficult. The regime is strong and gets support from Russia,” he explained. Al Ezz said that Jabhat Al-Nusra…

Jewish Politician Calls on Germany To Do More for Migrants
September 28, 2016
Jewish Politician Calls on Germany To Do More for Migrants Gregor Gysi, the Jewish Leftist who previously cheered the fact that ethnic Germans are barely reproducing, has now said that Germany should be doing "even more" to help migrants. I sincerely hope Mr. Gysi is remembered when the Saxon begins to hate.
